Humans, in general, are born with 20 fingers and toes. But not with this one Indian boy.
Akshat Saxena, 1, was born with 34 fingers and toes. Because of its uniqueness, he broke the world record for Guinness World Records as the man with most fingers.
After making observations, a spokesman for Guinness World Records said that the boy has seven fingers on each hand and 10 fingers on each foot.
Previously, the son of Uttar Pradesh in northern India has undergone a series of operations to amputate the excess digits. Akshat was born without a thumb, so doctors worked to reconstruct the radius of the excess.
"I am very happy to see my first baby. But then, I was surprised to see her fingers," said Amrita Sxaena, Akshat's mother,
as quoted by the Daily Mail.
Conditions that occur in Akshat known as polydactyly, a genetic disorder that can be inherited and provide advantages in the fingers and toes. Typically, the excess number of fingers occurs at the side of the little finger on the hand.
